A little background ...
Welcome to my website, Fabrics Galore. That was the name of the quilt shop I owned and managed for 14 years. It's now evolved into this website -- "evolved" comes to my mind rather quickly, as I ponder how I am to describe myself to you. I feel as if I have been evolving for a long time. Changes that we endure are opportunities which provide new circumstances for promoting our growth, if we are open to it.
I consider my “profession” nursing, which is where I received my formal training and work career, which it had been for 25 years. I have not retired, and offer my services occasionally for private duty hospice care.
My “passion” has always been in the arts, either playing music or delving into fiber arts, to quench a hunger for creativity. I live to paint, photograph, and work with all kinds of fiber, whether in landscape quilts, still-life wall hangings, or wearable arts with luscious yarns. Whatever I do create, I usually embellish with longarm quilting.
I've begun to embrace the blessings and explore those things that involve the spirit and soul of my being. I profess that God blesses us in every situation.
Life begins beyond your comfort zone.
